“The script is the coloring book that you’re given, and your job is to figure out how to color it in. And also when and where to color outside the lines.” – James Spader I drew and colored this digitally on my computer. After being busy with the zazzle shop and Redbubble shop the last few weeks, I’m […]
My artwork mostly revolves around what my experiences are at a particular moment. I was reminded that Fall officially starts this week and I created this artwork to represent the beauty of the season. When we think of fall colors one generally is reminded of hues of red and yellow, but I have seen shades of all imaginable […]
I did wonder many times in the past if I could really be an artist. God knows I wanted to but I had never allowed myself to try it seriously enough because I lacked any formal training in creative arts and I was very intimidated by all the beautiful art around me. All this changed in the year 2013. In the beginning of the […]
Just thought I’ll draw a little something to motivate me this Friday. Have a great weekend you all!
Whatever it is that we are doing, if we learn to love it, there is nothing like it. Did you observe the rock in the middle? I have started drawing/writing on rocks recently and these will be going to random places just like the bookmarks I leave here and there!
A wall in my room was left empty with no artwork. Why? Because, the wooden letters that I bought at Walmart almost six months ago were supposed to be painted and put up over there. Too many things to do and sometimes things take time to happen, right! Well, better late than never. I got it going […]
“Color is my day-long obsession, joy and torment.” – Claude Monet I had drawn this thinking about Sea creatures. I finally finished coloring it yesterday. I normally like to start out without a plan in terms of the color palette and just let it evolve organically. That is how it is most relaxing to me. […]
Last week after the zentangle challenge, I wanted to try out a zendala one. What fun it turned out to be!! It is really nice to do this when you are not really sure where to start with your art or if you do not want to put too much thought on what to create […]
Today is the first time ever that I am participating in a Zentangle challenge. I needed some direction and motivation and what best way to do it than to take part in a challenge. Suzanne Moshier runs weekly challenges on her blog and is a fellow blogger/zentangle artist. Check out her lovely creations and all the […]
Today I was playing around with celtic patterns. Really love how these evolved. Here is one of them.
“My life has a superb cast, but I cannot figure out the plot.” – Ashleigh Brilliant
“What she really loved was to hang over the edge and watch the bow of the ship slice through the waves. She loved it especially when the waves were high and the ship rose and fell, or when it was snowing and the flakes stung her face.” – Kristin Cashore, Graceling
The word “swastika” comes from the Sanskrit svastika – “su” meaning “good,” “asti” meaning “to be,” and “ka” as a suffix. The swastika is used by many cultures to represent life, sun, power, strength, and good luck. This intricate design is entirely hand drawn and painted with earthy colors using markers and pens.
“You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope someday you’ll join us. And the world will live as one.” – John Lennon
“I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way – things I had no words for.” – Georgia O’Keeffe
I have taken an interest in digital doodling recently. It’s pretty neat. All you need is your phone/tablet with a decent sketching software. The possibilities are truly endless!! My experiments with this medium continue. Below is the doodle of Richmond downtown that I did this morning on my phone.
The geometry in nature is truly wonderful. And I wanted to draw something beautiful which reflected that thought and this is the result.
“Ideas are like stars: you will not succeed in touching them with your hands, but like the seafaring man on the ocean desert of waters, you choose them as your guides, and following them, you reach your destiny.” – Carl Schruz
