Just thought I’ll draw a little something to motivate me this Friday. Have a great weekend you all!
Whatever it is that we are doing, if we learn to love it, there is nothing like it. Did you observe the rock in the middle? I have started drawing/writing on rocks recently and these will be going to random places just like the bookmarks I leave here and there!
“Color is my day-long obsession, joy and torment.” – Claude Monet I had drawn this thinking about Sea creatures. I finally finished coloring it yesterday. I normally like to start out without a plan in terms of the color palette and just let it evolve organically. That is how it is most relaxing to me. […]
Today I was playing around with celtic patterns. Really love how these evolved. Here is one of them.
“What she really loved was to hang over the edge and watch the bow of the ship slice through the waves. She loved it especially when the waves were high and the ship rose and fell, or when it was snowing and the flakes stung her face.” – Kristin Cashore, Graceling
The word “swastika” comes from the Sanskrit svastika – “su” meaning “good,” “asti” meaning “to be,” and “ka” as a suffix. The swastika is used by many cultures to represent life, sun, power, strength, and good luck. This intricate design is entirely hand drawn and painted with earthy colors using markers and pens.
“You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope someday you’ll join us. And the world will live as one.” – John Lennon
“I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way – things I had no words for.” – Georgia O’Keeffe
I have taken an interest in digital doodling recently. It’s pretty neat. All you need is your phone/tablet with a decent sketching software. The possibilities are truly endless!! My experiments with this medium continue. Below is the doodle of Richmond downtown that I did this morning on my phone.
The geometry in nature is truly wonderful. And I wanted to draw something beautiful which reflected that thought and this is the result.
“If you feel lost, disappointed, hesitant, or weak, return to yourself, to who you are, here and now and when you get there, you will discover yourself, like a lotus flower in full bloom, even in a muddy pond, beautiful and strong.” – Masaru Emato from Secret Life of Water
“When the sun is shining I can do anything; no mountain is too high, no trouble too difficult to overcome.” – Wilma Rudolph
“You’re only here for a short visit. Don’t hurry, don’t worry. And be sure to smell the flowers along the way.” – Walter Hagen
“Stop being afraid of what could go wrong, and focus on what could go right.”
“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them – that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.” – Lao Tzu These are the different stages of this drawing before it got to be the colorful one down below. Whenever I […]
“I like this place and could willingly waste my time in it.” – William Shakespeare I started this painting with no intention of achieving a particular result but with one feeling in my mind – how good it feels to be one with the nature, one with everything around us…accepting and cherishing the beauty of […]
Spring is nature’s way of saying, “Let’s party!” – Robin Williams Spring just started and it is so beautiful. This season is the inspiration for this drawing.
“Everything has a way of coming full circle. It takes patience and perseverance to see a dream through…to close that circle. Because some dreams, like some circles, can be much bigger than others.” – Karen Dale Trask
“You are not in this world to live up to other people’s expectations, nor should you feel that the world must live up to yours.” – F Perl Yeah, I have gone completely color crazy these days 🙂 I am so tempted to fill my doodles with lots and lots of colors. It is so […]
